Hello there!

I'm Iris, the owner of Bread & Butterfly. I'm a crazy tea-lady, designer and crafter based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 

I was an animator and graphic designer but gave up that dream to help in my family's business. So as my creative outlet, I craft and design at night and on weekends... and I drink an obscene amount of tea (instead of water  ) on a daily basis. I REALLY love black and floral teas!  

Anyhoo, Bread & Butterfly was inspired by the Bread-and-Butterflies characters found in the Alice in Wonderland novel and cartoon. Bread-and-Butterflies are little butterflies with slices of bread for wings with butter spread on the outer sides, you can find them fluttering about in the Garden of Life Flowers in Wonderland. I have a little obsession with Alice in Wonderland as I could relate to Alice escaping into her made-up world, making things up with her imagination and leaning on her creativity to navigate though this harsh world. Designing, crafting and making things with my hands has helped me cope with (and escape) this mundane reality. 

With this in mind, I started making my own themed charm accessores to adorn myself and then started Bread & Butterfly in 2014 to share my love and cravings for anything cute, pretty and creative. Since then, I also have ventured into making miniatures with Polymer Clay, Resin charms, sewing bags and currently, making plushies! You may find wearable miniature food accessories in my sub-brand "Woodland's Bakery" and all sewed things in "Petit Fleur".

Everything I have made are all handmade with the utmost love and care, each piece unique and tells a story. So I hope that among them, you'll be able to find your one of a kind treasure.
